Tony Stark | Darkest Hour [Video]

“A famous man once said, ‘we create our own demons.’ Who said that? What does it even mean? It doesn’t matter; I said it because he said it, so now he was famous and then basically getting said by two well-known guys. I don’t… argh. Let me start again.”
―Tony Stark

Traverse

My wandering soul lingers along those dark roads.  Thoughts poking my reasons at midnight; hope coming to terms with my questionable decisions.  Sinister voices are pushing for a change in my nature.  They dangle delights, often tricks, for me to savor.  I traverse the wicked unknown, seeking my way home.

Review: Avengers Infinity War

This was Thanos’ story.

IMG_5498It started where we left off at the conclusion of Thor: Ragnarok.  Thanos and his Black Order defeat Thor and the Asgardians, in space.  He had the Power Stone in his possession and took the Space Stone from Loki.    He quickly claimed the Reality Stone and took Gamora to obtain the Soul Stone.  The Time Stone and the Mind Stone were more challenging to achieve due to the combined forces of The Avengers, The Guardians of the Galaxy, and Doctor Strange.  Despite two spectacular battles, Thanos took those remaining Infinity Stones and fulfilled his goal of wiping out half of the galaxy, with the snap of his fingers.

We learned that on his homeworld, Titan, there were more people than resources so, Thanos decided to randomly eliminate half of their population to save it.  In the end, his world was decimated.  The Titan took to the stars and began his galactic conquest to bring balance to the universe.  Thanos’ story is one of sacrifice for a higher purpose, for the power required to complete his goal.  His world destroyed.  The end of his daughter, Gamora.  The death of his children, the Black Order.

So much death in the beginning and so much death at the end. For the first time, Thanos gets to see his sunrise with a smile while things look hopeless for our remaining heroes. The ending is one hum-dinger of a cliffhanger; having to wait a year for the conclusion will have me feeling anxious before the end of the summer.

The Russo Brothers did an excellent job connecting the audience with the meaning behind Thanos’ purpose.  While we may not agree with the heinous actions of this supervillain, we understood the reason behind his madness.

Pretentious

I sleep in seconds,
Unable to sustain this pretentiousness.

My youthful stamina is dwindling.
A weakness I work to keep hidden.
There are times I want to surrender; giving in to my burdens.

The darkness no longer
Bargains with the light.

One day,
I will set my eyes
On a beautiful sunset.
Returning the favor
With a smile.

Finding My Way Back

A couple of weeks ago, I set up my drafting table and put together all of my art supplies.  This space is becoming my sanctuary; a place where I am getting reacquainted with a long lost feeling of happiness.  I want to do more than just “dabble” in the art as I find my way back towards my childhood dreams.

First Aid

At each point in time, I am cast into the deep forced to live or die by my own efforts. For a long time, I was afraid to ask for help because of the negative reactions that generally followed my request for aid.

Alone, is the only method I am accustomed to using. To live and die by my own efforts is my interpretation of responsibility. The reward and consequences of my actions; the recompense of my accounting.

In time, things will change. Acceptance comes out of necessity. I must trust my judgment. My intuition has never failed me.

It’s Nothing

We started with nothing,
without form just lifeless
beings dangling within the void.

Passionate words,
our voices could only emulate;
eternity’s promise we imagined.

Beguiled by the sins
of fallen angels; foolish
delights covered in darkness.

Tragic are the days;
we exasperate the moments
with poignant exaggeration.

Those deepest thoughts
washed away by laughter
rolling within the folly.

It’s nothing, really.

Too Quiet

My presence is hidden in your Oblivion. The last drops of stoicism evaporate before the morning light.

Hopeful perspective falling away, lost in your dark matter. Your dirty chatter bleeding through the fabricated walls.

I quietly wait for the opportunity. My silence is calculated; an assassin doesn’t make any noise.

Interesting

I took a chance on a moment,
a time without certainty.

Forgotten promises missing
from those dormant dreams.

I looked into the distance
and witnessed the obscurity.

Foggy perceptions lying
on the damp horizon.

An interesting premise
drifting along the shores.

Hmmm…

An unexpected change
that peaks my curiosity.
