Maybe…maybe not

President Joe Biden delivered his State of the Union address last night. I didn’t watch it. The upcoming presidential election is probably Biden v. Trump, the sequel.

Congress is fast-tracking a bill to ban TikTok.

Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragonball Z, died at the age of 68. Jim Beard, the keyboardist for Steely Dan, also died at the age of 63.

The weekend is approaching; I might watch Aquaman 2, but then again, I might not.

Happy Friday.

Moving quickly.

This week is moving quickly.

A jury found Hannah Gutierrez-Reed guilty of involuntary manslaughter in “Rust” trial. She faces up to 18 months in state prison.

We bought a new refrigerator; it’s been 15 years since the current one, the last appliance we purchased with our house, succumbed to old age. It served us well.

My boss informed me that the reason I was assigned this high-profile project is because our managing director asked for me specifically; it’s supposed to be a promising thing career, but I want to retire. It’s not my plan to “restart a career.”

I have one more day of wearing tight business clothes to work for the investors. Hallelujah.

Gusty aftermath.

It was a gusty weekend.

I had a lot of dust to wipe off my car this morning.

Our managing director informed me late Friday afternoon that he had assigned me to a high-profile project. Now, I have four significant things to manage with many executive eyes on them.

Another turning point in my introverted life.

Happy Monday.

Wishing for retirement

Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The CEO of NVidia advises that people should stop learning how to write code due to the emergence of AI, which is a testament to the rapid decline of jobs in the Technology business sector. Meanwhile, somebody scammed a family for a Willy Wonka Experience because of AI.

My job continues having me learn to write code and automate Google Forms; they hired me as a project manager, yet I have been doing very little project management for the past eighteen months. I wish I could retire.

Virgil (Mike Jones) died at 61.

Richard Lewis died at 76.

I went to the CVS Pharmacy for sinus and cold medicine yesterday. I showed my ID to the woman behind the counter. She reviewed it for several seconds, and as she handed it back to me, she said, “Wow, you look better than my dad.” I wasn’t sure whether to appreciate the compliment or be sympathetic to her father.

Happy Thursday.

Game of roulette.

We had a mandatory “All Hands Town Hall” meeting via Zoom yesterday. The video conference call had maximum attendance, and many of us could not join. It became a game of roulette with every attempt to access the meeting.

I slept through the night for the second straight day and felt much better from this cold.

This morning, I learned that France wants to send troops to help Ukraine, Sweden is now a member of NATO, Sony laid off 900 employees, Macy’s is closing 150 stores, and Marvel Studios laid out the schedule for their following seven films.

My boss is back in the office today. Today, she will want to know what I accomplished while she was out; it should be a quick conversation.

Happy Hump Day.

February 27, 2024

That overwhelming feeling.

I woke up feeling better.

Plans changed regarding my brother’s visit, so we will look at meeting up later this year. I learned that Ole Anderson died. Our department management is returning to work; here comes that overwhelming feeling.

Happy Tuesday.

Negative impact.

Yesterday, I watched the film “Oppenheimer.” There was a lot to take in while watching. Some scenes did not connect well, and the film’s reveal of the animosity between Oppenheimer and Strauss could have been better. Despite all of that, the cinematography was excellent, and I enjoyed the underlying story of Oppeheimer’s moral dilemma. Overall, I liked it.

I had another strange dream last night. I am getting over this cold; I want to take a sick day, but that will negatively impact me.

February 25, 2024

On the mend.

I dreamed last night that I was in a white room, and this little black and brown Yorkie ran up to me excitedly. I realized it was Maxx, and he was playing with Peppers, Scooter, and Sammy. Seeing them all together made me cry.

That “under the weather” feeling has turned into a cold, but I am beginning to feel better.

Happy Sunday.

February 24, 2024

Naps required.

I woke up early on a Saturday morning and saw the moon in the clouds. Then I watched the WWE’s “Elimination Chamber” premium live event on Peacock.

I’m still feeling under the weather. I might need a nap soon.

Happy Saturday.

February 23, 2024

Who knows what today will bring?

Yesterday, we had no department leadership working due to our VP and Supervisor taking a vacation this week, and our manager who was covering called out sick.

Who knows what today will bring?

I’m feeling under the weather this morning, but at least I will have the weekend to recover.

Happy Friday.

February 21, 2024

Foggy.

A foggy and rainy morning.

I learned that 150,000 student loans received forgiveness (~$1.2bn), a restaurant fired a staff worker after receiving a $10k tip, and a millennial decided she is no longer hiring boomers.

My work life is in a desperate need of change.

Happy Hump Day.

February 20, 2024

Trying to warn me.

Rainy weather this morning.

I dreamed last night that I rear-ended a moving vehicle, causing it to flip into oncoming traffic and causing a yellow SUV to flip and crash. This morning, I caught this video.

Maybe the universe is trying to warn me.

February 19, 2024

The weather is unreal.

I woke up, forgetting today was a company holiday.

Yesterday, I watched the NBA All-Star game and the 211-point record set by the Eastern Conference team. It was an entertaining game.

The weather situation in California is unreal.

Back to work tomorrow. Happy Monday.
