Last night, I had a strange dream involving a new access badge, a meetup, and an explosion. It started with me receiving a new access badge that looked like the old badge. I showed it to my wife, and although I was still determining where we were, I was in a house with several people. We were getting ready to leave for a social event. I couldn’t find my new access badge. I asked my daughter, showing her my old badge, and she had me take her to the mall. We went to a video game store, where she opened a drawer full of games and put a few in a bag.

My daughter left the store with the games, walking to the other end of the mall for a meet-up. I decided to follow in obscurity. She walked out to a white SUV and got in. The vehicle around the parking lot into covered parking; I lost her. There was an explosion. The police arrived as many of us were in the parking garage stairwell, trying to see what was happening. A police officer asked me why I was there, and I told him I was trying to leave as I exited the stairwell.

I went back into the mall, retracing my path through the walkway of venues back to my car. I stopped at a jewelry store to find an Irish woman who worked there. She wasn’t there. I kept walking and decided to stop at a restaurant. I unwittingly found out that the Irish woman was having lunch there. We talked about the incident, and at the end of the conversation, she handed me a box containing a sweet truffle and a menu with names and email addresses.

That’s when I woke up.

This morning, the police showed up in our neighborhood, wanting to speak with someone who lived down the street, but no one answered. It’s a small dose of weekend excitement, I guess.

Happy Sunday.
