For the past seven months, I feel like I have lived through seven episodes of “Black Mirror.” We’re now living in episode eight. I am not sleeping well due to the events happening in my state and the country.

As of July, Nevada has the worst unemployment rate in the nation at 5.4% as the slump in tourism impacts our economy. Finding a job is worse than finding an alleged needle in the world’s most enormous haystack.

People are giving up and losing hope, and I am beginning to share their sentiment.
The past 30 days have placed me in vulnerable situations. We had a car break-in a week ago as someone smashed in a window for theft, and now our air conditioning unit has stopped working amid extreme heat warnings and triple-digit temperatures.

I have to buy a new unit, which is unaffordable, which has forced me to start a GoFundMe, unfortunately.
I want to be optimistic, however, life makes that challenging.

Mercury in Retrograde ends tomorrow, so that’s good news.
