I spent time Saturday and Sunday watching ‘Black Rabbit’, an eight-episode series on Netflix starring Jason Bateman, Jude Law, Cleopatra Coleman, and Amaka Okafor. Jason Bateman directed the series.
Logline: When the owner of a New York City hotspot lets his turbulent brother back into his life, he opens the door to escalating dangers that threaten to bring down everything he’s built.

Jake Friedken (Jude Law) and Vince Friedken (Jason Bateman) are brothers with a complicated and tragic past who own a restaurant in New York called the Black Rabbit. Jake becomes a successful entrepreneur, while Vince lives a troubled life, facing danger. Death and despair grow to a tragic conclusion. The story focused heavily on Jake’s and Vince’s relationship and problematic past. The series had an ‘Ozark’ vibe, probably due to Bateman’s directorial style. I wish I could have connected better with the supporting characters, as it would have made the deaths of some more impactful to me.
Overall, I gave the series an 8 out of 10 rating.
