I’m still sick.
On Wednesday afternoon, I erupted into a Gatlin gun series of sneezes that had my heart feeling like it was going to explode, and things got so bad on Thursday that I called in sick from work. It’s the first time I’ve done that in decades. The sad part is, I didn’t have enough accrued hours because the company resets sick time and PTO to zero at the beginning of the calendar year.

Thursday was also the day of my second interview. I did what I could to look alive and professional and took what I could to suppress my symptoms and went to my interview that afternoon. I met with the hiring manager. The interview went well, and the hiring manager said she wants me to meet with her boss, as he will likely want to “feel me out.” I have my doubts about getting the job, but we’ll see how this plays out.

I watched ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ season one episode five titled ‘Series Acclimation Mil.’ The episode paid homage to ‘Deep Space Nine’ and Captain Sisko, played by Avery Brooks. I’m a fan of Brooks and Deep Space Nine, and I found this episode to be brilliant and bittersweet.

I filed my tax returns as quickly as possible.
Super Bowl Sunday is tomorrow – Seahawks vs Patriots; should be a good game. I’m rooting for Bad Bunny.
