“You can feel it in the street on a day like this, that heat; it feels like summer.”
We’re two days into Spring and already facing the year’s first excessive heat warnings—a reminder of how quickly the seasons can change, both in weather and in life. Mercury in retrograde ended, and I start my new job on Wednesday.
I recently finished all seven seasons of ‘The West Wing’ after three weeks of daily bingeing. Standout episodes were at the end of season three and the start of season four, during President Bartlet’s re-election campaign against Governor Ritchie. Bartlet’s team focused on “being smart,” while Ritchie’s campaign appealed to their base by being “plain spoken” and simple-minded. These episodes resonated with me because they reflect how I imagine an Obama-versus-Trump election might have unfolded.

Walking along the Vernal Equinox, negative vibes fill my atmosphere. I still find it hard to breathe, but I pulled most of the weeds.
