The moonlight,
weird and warped,
barely shines through
the gray matter.

We raced,
without stopping, to
a place in time where
the former hates the latter.

dripping like blood,
from the deep cuts
inflicted by the day.

“Hallowed be thy name,”
they prayed,
waiting for the dark clouds
to go away.

Wind and rain
destroyed the soul;
unable to find fulfillment because
desperation created a hole.
