Two weeks ago, I saw the partial Lunar Eclipse on August 27th. It was cool, but it didn’t have the same vibe as the blood moon I saw a couple of years ago in March. Maybe I was hoping for that same sensation that gave me hope that something positive would happen in my life.

Monday was the unofficial end of summer.

I’ve been at my new job for 5 months, and it’s gotten progressively worse. A team member sent information as a follow-up from a meeting with C-level executives; the CEO had a conniption because the content was too much for him to process. His Chief Marketing Officer replied to our manager, saying it was inappropriate to send that much information and that she wanted the team to take a writing class. We were told to change how we message, that we were responsible for “creating” so executives can “edit,” and to provide clear instructions on what executives need to do. The comms feedback regarding preferred style is fine, but it felt like we were being penalized. While the situation may not have been about race, three black employees being told to take a writing class by a white executive because the CEO has reading comprehension issues is not a good look.

Today, we’re remembering 9-11 on its 25th anniversary.

I am watching the HBO Max series, Lanterns, and it is much better than I anticipated. My wife and I find it an engaging mystery show; we spend days after each episode analyzing what we saw in deep retrospect as we investigate the clues and breadcrumbs that make up the overarching story. One of the best series out there right now.

Meanwhile…

Something from the sketchbook.

Have a great weekend.
