Review: The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 05 – “Truth”

This episode summarizes four hundred years of American history. The parallels of representation and treatment between whites and people of color are captured in some heavy scenes. Isaiah Bradley’s story of the mistreatment of black soldiers, their bodies used as experiments by the government they swore to serve. He got thirty years in prison for doing the right thing while John Walker was given an “Other Than Honorable” Discharge for killing a man in cold blood.

Sam gets his opportunity to change the perception of Captain America, Bucky gets his opportunity to move forward with his life, Wakanda gets Zemo, and John Walker gets to make his own identity. There is still the question of whether Sharon Carter is either the Power Broker or working for this person so I hope we get an answer in the series finale.

I thought this was the best episode of the season, so far. There is a lot at stake and I can’t wait to see how it all ends.
