I would stay up on New Year’s Eve for the past two years to welcome the New Year. Last night, I decided to sleep through the New Year’s Eve festivities. The neighbors shooting fireworks, the dogs barking, the sound of debris hitting the house; none of that mattered. I slept without dreaming, without tossing and turning, and without expectations. Happy New Year.
