My employer held its fifteenth-anniversary celebration at the office yesterday. The top-level executives showed up, and it was overwhelming.

I didn’t stay for the company party that evening.

A new employee entering his third week at the company resigned yesterday and left the same day.

The newness has worn off; maybe the novelty was never there, to begin with.
