Review: Lemonade July 8, 2015, I took my family to Southern California for a brief summer vacation.  Just because we were unable to attend the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), there was no reason we could not have a great time without the “cosplay” and “fan-demonium”.  Our first stop was Lemonade on Ventura Blvd in Studio City.   My daughter actually recommended the place based on her research and social network following.

We arrived about thirty minutes before they opened which, allowed us a few minutes to walk along Ventura Boulevard checking out the stores.  The shops had me feeling a bit nostalgic.  After a short visit in the Barnes & Noble bookstore (which was a renovated movie theater…very cool).  We headed back over to Lemonade just as the doors were opening for lunch.  The employees met us with smiling faces.  I believe they actually enjoyed working there. Since this was our first time, we asked for recommendations and I must say, we were not disappointed.  Based on some suggestions and samples, I ordered the Herb Grilled Chicken Sandwich (with Mozzarella, Basil Pesto, and Arugula on Ciabatta bread) and a double portion of the Green Beans (with Coconut, Jalapeno, and Jerk Dressing).

I started with, the coconut green beans; the coconut mixed with the jalapeno and jerk dressing overwhelmed my taste buds with a spicy-sweet flavor. The ingredients were fresh and satisfying to the soul; it was a very addictive consumption of food.  Essentially, this dish took green beans to an amazing level.  Then, I moved onto the Herb Grilled Chicken sandwich.  The first impression on me was the softness of the Ciabatta bread, a bakery delight; the grilled chicken on top of the fresh Arugula maintained the right balance of hot and cold.  Without question, the Basil Pesto sealed the deal.

In the end, this was a great start to our summer vacation.  If you have never eaten at Lemonade in Studio City then you are missing a fabulous culinary experience.  We will be back there again on our next trip.
