Looking out my window.
Staring at the clear blue sky.
Thinking about the days ahead and
The coming sentence I must serve.
In solitary confinement,
The confusion my mind must endure by
Dealing with mistakes of the past,
The pain my heart must bear from
Damaging wounds that have not healed.
The punishment is a life sentence,
To relive the memories
Of a broken relationship,
All due to the crime of love.
